Senior Director of Human Resources

UNOS (United Network for Organ Sharing), the only non-profit organization solely focused on saving lives through organ transplant, is seeking a Head of HR for their headquarters in Richmond, VA.  This brand new role is a unique opportunity for a senior HR leader who is ready to move to a mission-drive organization.

This executive position reports directly to the Executive Director and will lead the HR department of this 350-employee organization.  The position works closely with business unit leaders to define and align HR strategy with business unit strategy, and will have overall responsibility for the administration, evaluation, development and improvement of HR strategies and all HR policies, practices, and procedures, ensuring support and alignment with company values and goals.  To be successful, the candidate must be technically competent, a strategic business partner, as well as collaborative team player.  The winning candidate will demonstrate problem-solving abilities, strong HR compliance knowledge, excellent coaching and communication skills and a strong work ethic.

Bachelor’s degree is required; a master’s degree in a relevant field is preferred.  Qualified candidates must have at least 15 years’ HR leadership experience with 5 years’ managing other HR professionals.  Proven ability to work effectively with all levels in the organization is also essential.  Experience working with Healthcare and Information Technology groups is a plus.  Relocation is available.
